Memorial Hospital Joins Central Ohio Hospitals to Scrub Up!
Memorial Hospital of Union County is joining 17 other central Ohio hospitals to Scrub Up! on December 5th in an effort designed by the Ohio Hospital Association’s (OHA) Quality Institute to promote a culture of hand washing behavior among hospital staff, patients, and visitors.

Memorial Hospital of Union County is “mixing it up” with the addition of two new executive chefs, one at Memorial Hospital and another at The Gables at Green Pastures. Joining the culinary team at Memorial is Jason Vance, a Richwood native, while Marysville resident, Christopher Gray, adds his flavor to the kitchen staff at The Gables.
Celebrating Girl Scouts of the USA
Union County Service Unit 885 is honored to congratulate the Howard family on their beautiful new addition, Kaydence Michelle. In celebration of Girl Scouts of the USA founder Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday and its upcoming 100th anniversary, the unit coordinated a ‘Future Girl Scout’ gift basket to be given to the baby girl born closest to Low’s date of birth.

The Heart Partnership Reaches Another Milestone
Memorial Hospital of Union County and The Ohio State University Medical Center will reach another milestone in the transition to an integrated cardiac program next week. The hospital and The OSU Heart Center which serves local cardiac patients will consolidate all diagnostic services under one roof. Effective September 5, 2011, all cardiac diagnostics and screenings will be performed at the DNV accredited main Memorial Hospital facility. This will include stress tests, echocardiograms, carotid testing, vascular testing and venous testing.

Local Physician Advances Military Support of Traumatic Brain Injury Effects
What started with a desire to honor the memory of a friend’s nephew who was killed in action in Iraq has turned into a national platform for education and awareness for Chrisanne Gordon, MD, Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at Memorial Hospital of Union County.
Dr. Gordon has partnered with the National Veterans Foundation to define and promote coordinated solutions to the health, education, and employment issues our Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom, OIF) and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom, OEF) veterans encounter once they return home. Her involvement quickly grew after an initial call to the Columbus Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in January 2008, as the need for rehabilitation and support came to light.
