An employee at Memorial Hospital for seven years, Wirtz provides guidance in areas including benefits, salaries, employee relations, retirement, and events to more than 750 employees. She also oversees the hospital’s volunteer and customer service departments as well as its on-site day care, Kidzlink.
In addition, she serves as an ambassador to other businesses throughout the county as chair of the Union County Chamber of Commerce Business, Education and Workforce Team which fosters communication between the business community and county government as it relates to training and employment opportunities. She is also the former chair for the group’s legislative committee, which focuses on issues important to the businesses of the county. Reaching to the state level, Wirtz is a member of the Ohio Hospital Association’s Health Benefits Exchange Task Force and a Board Member of the Ohio Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administrators.

A total of seven individuals and organizations were recognized as winners or finalists for their achievements. To be recognized as a finalist for the “Good Works” category, applicants must have a notable commitment to the community through charitable, philanthropic, or volunteer efforts. A selection committee of local executives and human resource professionals reviewed all nominations and winners and finalists will be recognized at a special reception at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on August 2nd.
